  1. Cultural Presentation Joint project of Asian History and Literature for the third trimester

  2. Overview As a class, students will work on a cultural presentation which showcases the roles of Asian women in the ancient, colonial and modern periods through music, dance and drama.

  4. Ancient, Colonial and Modern Periods Coverage

  5. Grouping There will be two main groups: Production and Performance. Each main group is divided into smaller teams (see next slide). All students, except for the PRODUCTION MANAGER and DIRECTORS, are required to join both a Production and Performance Team.

  6. Grade Components 10% Preparation 40 % Playbill 50% Presentation

  7. 10% Preparation • There will be a graded Technical-Dress Rehearsal one week before the actual day of presentation. Students are expected to have completed 85% of the production work. • Teachers will grade and comment on this rehearsal for students to be guided on what they should improve on for their Cultural Presentation.

  8. 40% Playbill • The Documentation Team will be in charge of compiling and layouting the research work done by the class for their Cultural Presentation in a playbill.

  9. 40% Playbill • This playbill should contain: • Background of the different periods relevant to their theme (100-120 words per period) 3 Directors • Script/s used 3 Scriptwriters

  10. 40% Playbill • This playbill should contain: • Life story of the woman/women chosen for the presentation (100-120 words) PM/APM • “Judgment” or reflection on the changing roles of women in their assigned country (100-120 words) PM/APM

  11. 40% Playbill • This playbill should contain: • Research on the costumes, props, set (environment or architecture), sounds or music of the Asian country in the different time periods (80-100 words per component for each time period with pictures if needed) Costumes and Props, Set, Lights and Sounds Production Teams

  12. 40% Playbill • The size of the playbill will be half a bond paper. Orientation is portrait. Any font may be used as long as it is readable. • All research should have properly-cited sources. • The playbill will be submitted on the day of the Cultural Presentation.

  13. 50% Presentation 15% Correctness of facts presented 5% Correctness of production elements 15% Clarity of story and theme 15% Creativity
