Study Restrictions • CIPS • The reliability of the energy grid depends not only on physical assets, but cyber assets. The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) realized that, along with protecting the physical assets, Critical Cyber Assets also need to be protected to keep the energy grid secure. • Confidentiality
Why Prepare the Studies? • FERC/WECC required • Provides a good round map for future • Provides needed justification to sell new system additions

Study Areas for First Half 2010 • Montpelier Study • Area encompasses the area around Bear Lake from Georgetown ID in the north to Woodruff UT in the south, and from Garden City UT in the West to Kemmerer WY in the East • Honeyville~Malad Study • Area encompasses nearly all Box Elder County, a small portion of Cache County and a portion of Oneida County in Idaho. In all there is about 3600 square miles of service territory. About 42 percent of this area is not electrified and potentially may never become so. • Pavant Study • Area encompasses the area near Delta, from Lynndyl in the north to Clear lake in the southwest and Fillmore in the southeast.

Honeyville~Malad Study Area • Malad City in the North • Dividing line to the East is the Cache Nation Forest • Brigham City to the South • Ben Lomond while outside of the area, is its main source for power.
