This week in Junior Infants we were learning about materials.

This week in Junior Infants, we delved into the world of materials by searching for various items in our classroom. One group focused on finding glass, while another searched for wool. Simultaneously, students explored metal and discovered numerous wooden objects around them. The quest continued as they identified books and posters made from paper, and lastly, uncovered many plastic toys, including our football and paint bottles. Our adventures prompted us to reflect on the importance of these materials in our daily lives.

  1. This week in Junior Infants we were learning about materials. We decided to look for these materials in our classroom.

  2. One group hunted for glass.

  3. Another group hunted for wool.

  4. Finally!

  5. This group hunted for metal.

  6. Easy!

  7. This group hunted for wood.

  8. There are lots of wooden things in our classroom.

  9. This group hunted for paper.

  10. Books, copies and posters are made from paper.

  11. The last group had to find things that were made from plastic.

  12. A lot of our toys are made from plastic. Our football, paint bottles and boxes are made from plastic.

  13. What would we do without these materials?
