  4. Epidermis • Dead cells tough protective layer • Outer skin replaced once a month • Lipids contains fatty substance for waterproofing • Melanin: Pigment gives skin, hair and eyes their color

  5. Dermis • Conective tissue • Spongy • Elastic • Flexible • Contains nerve endings, fair folllicles, and sweat glands

  6. Hypodermis • Attaches skin to bones and muscles

  7. Warts are caused by a virus • Ring worm is caused by fungus • Abdominal hernia • A weakness in the abdominal wall resulting in a protrusion from lifting heavy weights • Osteoarthritis abnormal wear of a joint • Pimple is an infected hair follicle
