  1. IETF CCAMP Addressing and Messaging in Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) Networks: Best Practices draft-shiomoto-ccamp-gmpls-addressing-00.txt Richard Rabbat Rajiv Papneja Kohei Shiomoto Lyndon Ong (Ciena) Vijay Pandian (Sycamore) Hari Rakotoranto(Cisco) Contributors: Yumiko Kawashima(NTT) Ashok Narayanan (Cisco) Eiji Oki (NTT) draft-shiomoto-ccamp-gmpls-addressing-00.txt

  2. Motivation for this Draft • Proposes best common practices for GMPLS-based networks • Builds on experience gained from the testing in GMPLS-based networks, this draft proposes solutions to some interoperability issues we found • Those issues were due to the fact that text in some RFCs is not sufficiently clear draft-shiomoto-ccamp-gmpls-addressing-00.txt

  3. Summary • Main topics • Addressing schemes for numbered and unnumbered links • RSVP-TE Message Content • Recommendations for setting values for the following • Router ID (OSPF Router ID or ISIS System ID) and TE router ID • IPv4 addresses in RSVP Objects • Incoming vs. Outgoing Interface ID in ERO and RRO draft-shiomoto-ccamp-gmpls-addressing-00.txt

  4. In Conclusion • Current state • Draft is being discussed on and off the CCAMP ML • Many comments received • Interest in this topic is growing due to the various interoperability events that have occurred • This draft is an attempt to collect items of study and makes an initial attempt at resolving them • What’s next • Topic in new charter • Looking for more contributions (Send email to list and editors) • Target is to eventually get it accepted as WG draft draft-shiomoto-ccamp-gmpls-addressing-00.txt
