  1. The Passion for Bikes in Canada Bikes and the passion for cycling is more common in kids compared with adults. According to Official Statistics of Canada about 12 million Canadians who are 12 years of age or above do cycling either regularly or irregularly. The majority of this percentage belongs to younger children between the ages of 12 years to 14 years compared with older adults who are either 50 years old or older. The growing trend of health benefits does certainly promote cycling and other exercises whereby it is expected that the percentage of bike riders will rise gradually. Canadians have also set up many organizations and marathons in order to promote bike riders to opt for cycling. The government is also engaged actively in order to take measures to reduce accidents due to cycling and therefore, promoting the use of helmets and other protective instruments. Bikes and Equipment Industry The bike industry is promoted by the emerging trend created by cycling infused tourism. From the perspective of potential suppliers and bikes and equipment industry, Canada still holds a large room for new entrants and lacks key players in the industry. There is however another need to build iconic pathways for cyclists like La Route Verte in Quebec. The Canadian bikes and cycling industry stands at over CAD 250 million and after facing a couple of tough years, have been recovering in recent years and provides a good scope for new investment in the future.

  2. Prices of Bikes, Cycles, and Related Equipment As the inflation in Canada continues to rise, the prices for sports goods such as bikes have also increased considerably. Furthermore, the absence of abundant manufacturers also keeps the pricing at higher side due to lesser availability of locally manufactured good quality bikes and cycles and more reliance on importing from the south border. The growth of online sales just like any other industry, have also affected the sports industry significantly. The growth of online platforms to buy and sell goods either new or used has significantly changed the market dynamics.
