  3. Fat • Store energy • Develops brain and nervous system • Two types: • Saturated fat • Trans fat • Keeps in heat • Can be solid or liquid • Sources: • Fast food • Milk • Meat • oils

  4. Fibre • Lowers blood cholesterol • Regulates insulin • Helps with constipation • Two types • Soluble (Dissolves in water) • Insoluble (can’t dissolve,) • Carbs that cannot be digested • Very filling • Sources • Grains • Most fruits

  5. Proteins • Builds, maintains and replaces body tissues • Two types • Simple (contains only amino acids) • Conjugated (contains glycoproteins, lipoproteins and nucleoproteins) • Makes up most of your body • Made of amino acids • Sources : • Meats and alternatives

  6. Minerals • Helps your body grow and maintain healthy • Builds bones • Transmit nerve signals • Many types • Diferent from rock minerals • Sources: • Milk and red meats
