Bernoulli’s Principle

Bernoulli’s Principle. Chapter 11 Section 4. Fluid Motion. Fluids flow from high pressure to low pressure How does this relate to drinking out of a straw? Higher air pressure pushing down on the surface of the drink forces fluid up straw where there is less pressure. Bernoulli’s Principle.

  1. Bernoulli’s Principle Chapter 11 Section 4

  2. Fluid Motion Fluids flow from high pressure to low pressure How does this relate to drinking out of a straw? Higher air pressure pushing down on the surface of the drink forces fluid up straw where there is less pressure.

  3. Bernoulli’s Principle The faster a fluid moves, the less pressure it exerts. As fluid speed increases, the pressure decreases. Remember, air is fluid!

  4. Turn to pg. 437 and try Standards Warm-up Draw a picture of what you did and draw arrows to show the side where the force is greater.

  5. Objects in Flight IF the air moves faster above the object, fluid pressure pushes the object upward. IF the air move faster below the object, fluid pressure pushes it downward.

  6. Air moves faster when you squeeze the bulb….lowering the air pressure.Higher air pressure in the bottle…
