Mug body will be made from a slab template, you must use the dimensions on the prepared templates. • Mug must also contain a handle, bottom and sculpted surprise element. • Work on all parts simultaneously so the body, handle can get leatherhard. • Also attach sculpted, bottom at the end of the process. • Exterior of the mug must be very simple, well crafted and smooth in order to contrast with the interior.
The twist • Interior of the mug must contain a sculpted element of surprise. When someone drinks out of the mug they will see a 3D scene or object inside. You will create this by carving, building, pinching objects and adhering them to the inside of the mug. This surprise may startle, be funny or very detailed in order to engage the viewer. Possible ideas for interior surprise include exterior scene-landscape, city, street scene, etc., human anatomy, a container within a container, an animal or creature or anything else your imagination comes up with. Surprise should be miniature so the interior is still functional.
