  1. Straw working group Introduction Hans Danielsson

  2. Status and plans 2011 • Module 0 • The frame is in 154 • Straws (report by Neil and Yuriy) • Parts and tooling ready by the end of February • 64-straw prototype: Test beam with new web and cover with TDC. (validation!) • Electronics • Shorter web (received), TDC (FPGA), CARIOCA baseline • Interface parts, which means integration • NEW: Micromegashave been ordered for tracking 4x (10x10cm2). Independent tracking for cosmics and test beam. (~ April) Rate >100kHz/cm2 and s ~ 25 mm. Hans Danielsson

  3. Major procurement in 2011 • Straw material (single supplier) 65 kSFr • Frames: DR and Market Survey > 300- kSFr • Interface parts • Workshop on detector Integration Date ? • “Module 0” in September • Tooling (Installation in the experiment) • Gas system • Web, mechanical parts, power supplies etc. First validation with module 0, then series production Hans Danielsson

  4. Milestones in 2011 • Module 0 start-up Feb. 2011 • Finish assembly 1/7/2011 • Straw production start-up in Dubna End of Jan • Interface part “module 0” 1/10/2011 • Assembly site at Dubna ready Jul 2011 • Decision on FE baseline Jan 2011 ->Ok, CARIOCA • Validate TDC on cover (test beam) June 2011 • Synchronization run ??? Nov. 2011 Hans Danielsson
