  1. SATs Well done to all of the Year 6 children for their hard work and dedication during their SATs week this week, we are very proud of you all. Next week, the Year 2 children will be taking their SATs. Please can you ensure your child goes to bed at a reasonable time to ensure they are refreshed. If your child is not well, please contact the school. If you have any questions or queries about your child’s SATs, please do not hesitate to speak to Mrs Duckworth or Mrs Smith. Good luck to all the children. With all the hard work and dedication you have shown, I am sure you will all do very well. 01254 54851 Manchester Children’s Book Festival This is taking place between 26th June and 6th July. There are lots of exciting events going on including a FREE Festival Family Fun Day on Saturday 28th June. For further information, please visit www.mcbf.org.uk . Please note – Next Friday is the last day of school before the half term holidays. For a £1 donation towards your child’s class charity, children can come into school in non-uniform. School will close at 3:05am on Friday and will re-open on Monday 2nd June. Assessment Week Next week is also assessment week for the Years 1, 3, 4 and 5 children. Please ensure your child goes to sleep at a reasonable time so that they are refreshed for the next morning. Please contact the school if your child is unwell and will not be in school on the day. If you have any questions or queries, please speak to your child’s class teacher. Thank you. Our Reception class would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Ms Saeed, Nabeel’s mummy, for coming to their class and giving a talk on the cultures and foods in Pakistan, as part of their ‘Food Around the World’ topic. Everyone had lots of fun. Healthy lunchboxes If your child brings a packed lunch, please ensure you provide a healthy food. Please do not give your child any fizzy drinks and keep crisps and chocolates as a treat once a week. Thank you. Our Head Boy and Head Girl would like to thank everyone for being quiet during the Year 6 SATs. Thank you all very much. Enjoy the nice weather! Go along to the Witton Country Fair this Sunday, between 11am and 4pm and take a look at the different attractions and activities they have to offer. Friday 16th May 2014 Newsletter Talk Homework: We feel that this is a really valuable activity and has a very positive impact on the quality of the ‘Friday Write’. There is no need to do any writing or bring in any paperwork. Breakfast Club Tuesday Treat next week will be ‘crumpets and scotch pancakes’. Breakfast club starts at 8am every morning at £1 per child. Everyone is welcome. Fantastic Friday – Friday 23rd May Children who are on packed lunch or home dinners during the week have the option of having a school dinner on a Friday. This is at a cost of £1.90. The menu is: Spicy pizza with chips, jacket potato, baked beans, and ice fruit smoothie.   2. Golden Book Winners Congratulations to all the children who are the Golden Book Winners for this week. They are; Reception – Ayaan Ali and Safah Hassan Year 1 – Aleena Hussain and Mustafa Valli Year 2 – Meesam Shah and Rami Kaderi Year 3 – Tania Qazi and Najaf Shah Year 4 – Alisha Azam and Ammara Patel Year 5 – Qasim Hussain and Yolanta Simane Year 6 – All of Year 6 A special Golden Book certificate was presented by the Year 6 children to Oliver Haworth for keeping them calm and entertained before their SATs in Breakfast Club! Welfare Stars –Maryam Qadri in Reception and Saif Jamal in Year 1 A big well done to all of you. House Point winners this week are Diamonds. Teller of the Week All of our Tellers this week have done a wonderful job of letting the school know who the Gold Book winners were in their class. The ‘Teller of the Week’ this week goes to Kulsoom Nazir in Year 2. Well done Kulsoom! The Reading Eggs Award this week goes to Year 4. Well done! This week’s attendance award goes to Year 6. Well done! Punctuality The Punctuality Award this week goes to Year 6. Well done!
