  4. Sıfatların üstünlük halleri iki kişi ya da iki şeyi karşılaştırırken kullanılır. • David is taller than his brother. • Kars is colder than Tunceli. • Tek heceli sıfatların sonlarına «–er» eklenerek üstünlük halleri elde edilir. • A litre of milk is cheaper than a litre of fruit juice.

  5. Sıfat bir «sessiz + sesli + sessiz» harf ile bitiyorsa son sessiz harf tekrarlanır. • Adana is hotter than Ankara. • My mother is fatter than my father. • «-y» ile biten iki heceli sıfatlarda «-y» düşer, «-ier» eklenir. • My suitcase is heavier than yours.
