  1. Microsoft PowerPoint 2007Part 4

  2. Agenda • Applying Special Effects • Setting Up the Slide Show • Expanding a Slide Show • Editing Multiple Presentations • Inserting a Photo Album

  3. Lesson 1 – Applying Special Effects • Applying an Animation Scheme • Animating Text and Objects • Setting Animation Timing • Animating a Chart • Inserting Sounds and Video • Changing Multimedia Settings • Inserting Animated GIFs

  4. Applying an Animation Scheme • Apply animations to introduce objects or individual lines of text and create slide transitions. • Animationschemes apply one animation to all the elements on a slide.

  5. Animating Text and Objects • CustomAnimation allows users to have complete control over the animation. • Instead of applying a general animation for the entire slide, choose different animations. • Apply animation to individual items on slides.

  6. Setting Animation Timing • Animated objects enter a slide with the click of the mouse. • Settingtiming allows objects to automatically enter a slide after a specified period of time. • Determine timing settings for objects on slides.

  7. Animating a Chart • Charts can be introduced into a slide at once or by series. • Also, users can animate a chart by displaying each element in a category as a separate event.

  8. Inserting Sounds and Video • Add multimedia effects (sounds and video). • Use media to call attention to a particular slide and its contents. • Music can be added to introduce a slide or to provide a background for the entire slide show.

  9. Changing Multimedia Settings • Choose to stop playing multimedia after a certain number of slides. • By default, multimedia objects stop after a single play (i.e. a single track on a CD). • Movies can be set to rewind after they finish playing.

  10. Inserting Animated GIFs • Insertanimated Graphics Interchange Format files (GIFs). • Add them from the Clip Art task pane or the Insert Picture dialog box. • The animation is preserved whenever a presentation containing an animated GIF file is saved for display in a web browser. • Animated GIF files can be downloaded from the Internet and saved to the Clip Organizer.

  11. Lesson 2 – Setting Up the Slide Show • Setting Automatic Slide Timings • Setting Up a Continuous Loop • Hiding a Slide • Rehearsing Slide Transition Timings

  12. Setting Automatic Slide Timings • By default, the slide show advances by clicking the mouse or the [Enter] key. • Set a slide show to advance to the next slide automatically after a specified time.

  13. Setting Up a Continuous Loop • Once transitions and slide timings are added, set a slide to loop. • A continuousloop means the slide show will run continuously without user intervention. • Specify the range of slides to appear.

  14. Hiding a Slide • There may be times when not all of the slides in a presentation need to appear in the slide show. • Hiding a slide hides it, but does not delete it. • Use the Hide Slide button on the Slide Show tab.

  15. Rehearsing Slide Transition Timings • Automatically advance each slide to the next slide after a set period of time. • The Rehearsal feature allows users to get exact timings to meet their needs. • Use the Rehearsal toolbar to apply timings. Slide Time Running Time Advance Rewind Pause

  16. Lesson 3 – Expanding a Slide Show • Setting Up a Custom Show as the Default • Creating a Hyperlink • Using a Hyperlink • Using an Action • Jumping to Another Presentation

  17. Setting Up a Custom Show as the Default • A customslideshow can be included as part of a larger slide show or it can be run as a separate slide show. • This flexibility allows users to keep all the slides in one presentation.

  18. Creating a Hyperlink • Hyperlinks allow users to jump: • from one slide to another, • to a custom show stored in the presentation, • or to another presentation. • Create a hyperlink for text and objects alike. • Any hyperlink text is underlined on the slide.

  19. Using a Hyperlink • The slide show will jump to the link whenever the text or object is clicked. • If the text or object is not clicked, the slide show will ignore the hyperlink and continue with the next animation or slide in the slide show. Choose an existing file Link to a Web page

  20. Using an Action • You can create an Action from any object (including text, drawings, charts, shapes, tables, and pictures). • Actions can be launched either by clicking the mouse on the object or by hovering the mouse over the object.

  21. Jumping to Another Presentation • Create a hyperlink to jump to anotherpresentation. • Create multiple hyperlinks where each hyperlink links to a different presentation. • Linked presentations appear in their own design template; they do not adopt the template of the slide show containing the hyperlink. • Create a hyperlink to a Word document, Excel workbook, Access database, or web page.

  22. Lesson 4 Editing Multiple Presentations • Viewing Multiple Presentations • Copying Text between Presentations • Copying Slides between Presentations • Copying Slides with Drag and Drop

  23. Viewing Multiple Presentations • If multiple presentations are open, move text or slides from one presentation to another. • Displaymultiplepresentations in the application window.

  24. Copying Text between Presentations • Copytext from one presentation and paste it into another. • If text is selected using the Paste feature, the pasted text overwrites the selection. • If the source and destination presentations use different design templates or themes, the Paste Options button appears after the text is pasted into the destination presentation. • Using paste options, keep the original (source) formatting or apply the formatting of the destination presentation to the pasted text.

  25. Copying Slides between Presentations • Copy a slide from one presentation and paste it into another. • Copyingslides between presentations is easier if you first open both presentations and arrange them side-by-side. • Also use the Cut and Paste buttons to move slides between presentations.

  26. Copying Slides with Drag and Drop • Copy a slide by dragging it from one presentation and dropping it into another. • Both presentations must be open in order to perform this action. • The Slides tab makes it easy to drag slides between presentations.

  27. Lesson 5 – Inserting a Photo Album • Inserting Pictures from a File • Adding Captions • Applying a Theme to Your Album • Customizing the Album Layout

  28. Inserting Pictures from a File • Create a presentation inPowerPoint 2007 in the style of a photo album, based on a series of photographs. • To enhance the album: • add animation effects, • backgrounds, • themes and colors, • captions and frames.

  29. Adding Captions Add captions to the photoalbum to provide extra information for the audience.

  30. Applying a Theme to Your Album • A theme applies colors, fonts, styles, and effects to provide a professional look to all the slides in the presentation. • Themes are a useful way of applying a corporate standard to the presentation.

  31. Customizing the Album Layout • Users can customize the photo album layout to add a variety of different frame styles to the photographs. • Change the layout of each slide so that you show more than one photograph per slide. • Users can also change their photographs to appear in black and white, giving each one a unique appearance.
