This Week, 3-14-11. Mrs. Smith’s Class. AR Point Homeroom Hitters. And the winner is…. Congratulations Smith’s Smarties!!!. The entire class took a total of 72 A.R. tests last week and passed 55 of them with a 70% or higher! Way to go Smarties!!. Congratulations!.

  8. Reading This week we will be reading several St. Patrick's Day theme stories. Many of these stories are A.R. books which the students will be able to take tests on after we have read them. We will start with The Copper Braids of Shannon O'Shea.

  9. Spelling Our spelling focus this week will be on r-influenced vowel patterns (ir, ire, & ier). This week’s words are: ir birth, first, girl, shirt, third ire sire, hire, tire, umpire, wire ier crier, flier, pliers, Oddball clerk, fur, her, purse, Challenge Words: firm, sir, whir sire, spire, mire frier liar

  10. This week we will be reviewing this nine weeks' curriculum for our end of the quarter test. Continue practicing/studying at home as we will be taking our test on Friday.  Don’t forget to continue practicing for the Math Megaminds challenge. We will have two more weeks to take the tests we have not passed yet. We will take the tests again this Wednesday.
