  2. Country of Origin and Sponsor • Samuel de Champlain was born to Antoine Champlain and Hélène Boullé . He was born in a town called Brouage, France in 1567. • For Champlain’s trip to the new world the sponsor was England particularly King Henry the seventh . King Henry sent Champlain a unofficial title.

  3. When he explored, Why he explored, and the areas he explored • These are the dates of his expeditions 1603 and 1604. • He explored because he wanted to find new land and wanted to get to the West Indies. • He explored Canada, St . Lawrence River and Cape Cod.

Obstacles he faced and accomplishes • His obstacles were beating the hostile Iroquois Indians, No pure water, and sufferings from climate. • Samuel de Champlain built a colony in Quebec he developed a fur trading post with the natives. He went on raids and was the first European to find Lake Champlain which he named for himself.

  5. Interesting facts • He died on Christmas Day • He made over 4 voyages to new France. • Early in his life he was a solider . • His tomb was never found. • His birthday is unknown • He sailed with his father many times
