  2. Class Information Fifth grade science is an introduction to many concepts and theories.

  3. 5th Grade Science curriculum includes the following: A. Structure and Function of Cells B. Body Systems C. Classification D. Growth and Heredity E. Interactions and Components of the Ecosystem F. The Universe G. Forces

  4. Homework Policy Homework must be handed it when it is due. A zero will be given if an assignment is not handed in when it is due. A missing or incomplete assignment must be handed in the by the following day . Once completed and handed in by the next day the zero will be filled in. Final numerical grade will be lowered 1 point for each zero. Final grade may be lowered for having too many filled in zeroes.

  5. Tests and Quizzes Tests and quizzes will be given periodically. Tests will usually be announced one week before they are given. Quizzes will be announced a few days before they are given.

  6. Buehler Challenger Science Center Paramus, NJ October 11 or 15, 2012 Our mission is entitled “Rendezvous with Comet Halley”. Comet Halley made its last approach to the sun in 1985-86. During its visit an armada of five spacecraft flew by Comet Halley at various distances to gather information about this cosmic traveler. Halley’s last visit was its thirtieth recorded passage by Earth. Halley will next round the sun in 2061. This visit will offer the possibility of a spacecraft with a crew of scientists onboard to rendezvous with Comet Halley.
