  5. 1. Culture and Traditions • Think about the Expo 2020. Imagine you had a booth at the expo that gave tourist information about the UAE. • Research culture traditions, hotels, places to visit, restaurants, etc. in the UAE. • Make a commercial (video advertisement) for tourists who will visit the UAE.

  6. 2. Faculty/Future Careers • Think about future students that will come to UAEU. How will they decide which major to choose? Help them decide. • Research your faculty and future careers for your major. • Make a commercial (video advertisement) about your faculty for students who are trying to choose what to study at UAEU.

  7. 3.Environmental Problems • Think about Environmental Problems in the UAE. How can they help protect the environment? • Choose a specific environmental problem in the UAE. • Create a video advertisement for your family, friends and local community that briefly explains the problem in the UAE and gives ideas on what we must do in the future.

  8. After you have your information… Use your iPad to make a short film.

  9. Marks Part of your mark will be a group mark. Part of your mark will be individual.

  10. Mark Breakdown (6% of overall grade) Group Mark Video 40 % Individual Mark • Group participation – 10 % • 3 Weekly Reflections– 10 % • Presentation – 30 % • Final Reflection – 10 %

  11. So, to succeed in this project, you need to… • Work outside of class. • Do research and make notes. • Meet with your partners and have discussions. • Think creatively. • Work together to develop your project. • Prepare and give a presentation.
