Vocabulary Building and Text Structure Analysis for 8th Grade

In this lesson, students will enhance their vocabulary by incorporating essential words into their notebooks. According to the Common Core standard RL.8.5, students will practice comparing and contrasting the structures of two or more texts. They will analyze how each text's structure contributes to its overall meaning and style. Additionally, students will record questions from a recent Classscape assessment, identify parts of speech by circling nouns and underlining verbs, and rewrite the questions using simpler language for better understanding.
