  3. SOME MISPERCEPTIONS IN ICT • There are not many jobs in the field of IT, unlike during the boom in the early 2000. • The field of ICT is only for low SPM achievers. • The jobs in ICT is low paying. • ICT is about Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

  9. CORRECT INFORMATION • There are so many jobs in ICT – 100,000 in year 2010 and increasing at 10% per year. • ICT salaries of fresh graduates and experienced workers are high. • ICT graduates get a job before their final year final exam. • ICT degree program can be of shorter duration.

SOME FACTS • While jobs in ICT becomes more available, jobs in some other fields decreases. • The demand for ICT workers is so high that ICT workers were imported from outside Malaysia, especially India. • According to our ex-Minister of health Datuk Chua SoiLek, the number of graduates in Medicines will be in excess by year 2015.
