OPC Server Updates and Stability in Recent Measurements at Alice DCS Workshop, Geneva

OPC server news (1) CAEN power supplies (HV and LV) • OPC server free available for all their modules from http://www.caen.it/computing/scdown.php - Last OPC server version - 2.9 (march 2005) • supports Crates SY127, SY403, SY527, SY1527, SY2527 • Easy 3000 (harsh environment) system included • Downloads from www.caen.it • Framework currently supports the following Easy boards: • LV: A3006,A3009,A3016,A3025,A3100, A3050 • HV: A3506P/N, A3507P/N, A3512P/N, A3535P/N, A3540P/N • Mixed:A4601 H/F Alice DCS workshop, Geneva S.Popescu

  3. OPC server news (2) Wiener Power supplies (LV only), Fan Trays and VME crates • OPC servers developed by the company (contact IT-CO ) 1.) CANBus OPC server - for remote control of VME PS UEP6021, PL500 family, “Maraton LV moderate HE” interface (KVASER) • KVASER PCI CAN drivers are used 2.) OPC server news (4) Iseg HV power supplies • OPC server available from Iseg • Free download from www.iseg-hv.de • CAN interface: PCI, USB (Peak company) • Last OPC version is 4.02 • Framework fwIseg 2.0.3 is working with 4.02 • A new version of fwIseg will be released in 2 weeks; will implement the alarm handling • OPC server is stable since Version 4.0; proven in the PHOS lab Alice DCS workshop, Geneva S.Popescu

Example:Iseg HV tests PHOS • Dynamic loads tested with quasi random ~1Hz 9mA • on/off switching in 8-channels • Over-current switch PHOS Requirement • Groups of 448 APD channels alimented by 1 Iseg EQH channel of 380.0 V at an average current of 9 mA • Each single APD HV bias is controlled by 10 bit bias controller 240-380 V on FEE cards. Individual settings via DCS/RCU • Stability requirement is 0.1 Volt (3 * 10-4) over long time and short time dynamic load ( EM particle flux) Testbox 8 HV channels ( Emulates 1 PHOS module) Alice DCS workshop, Geneva S.Popescu
