The summer of 1992 marked a monumental turning point in Albania as the country moved away from decades of atheism enforced by Enver Hoxha. On February 20, 1967, Hoxha outlawed religion, closing places of worship and banning practices. However, by February 20, 1992, Hoxha's statue was toppled, symbolizing a shift towards freedom. In July, a group of 26 teachers introduced Christian faith to the people, leading to the baptism of 42 individuals by August. This campaign sparked a religious revival in Albania, promoting hope and renewal.
