  6. More people had health insurancein 2011 Private health insurance coverage went down 2%over the past two years while public health insurance coverage went up 7% Almost13,000 more children had health insurance in 2011 than in 2009

  8. — Poverty — More than half of all householdsin Michigan pay more than 30% of their income in rent. On average, 1.8 million Michiganians a month were receiving food assistance during Fiscal Year 2012. More than 400,000 workers in Michigan have been unemployed every month so far in 2012. Jobs

  10. Our Vision • To serve as a catalyst, convener and connector, bringing together multiple stakeholders to influence policies that promote greater prosperity for all of Michigan. Through resource sharing, consistent messaging and proactive and coordinated advocacy, the Prosperity Coalition will work toward making economic security and racial equity a reality for all of Michigan.
