  2. Cori Magnotta Hoop Fitness – Not Child’s Play In the 1950’s WHAM-O invented the hula hoop to be a child’s toy. More than 50 years later, it has become anything but child’s play. Researchers at the University of Wisconsin conducted a study proving that 10 minutes of hula hooping is the equivalent to running a 10 minute mile. hoopwithcori.com

The biggest different is that hula hooping is fun! It’s impossible to not smile while hula hooping! You do not want to go to your local toy store and pick up a generic kid’s hula hoop! An adult, needs an adult sized hoop. Usually, for a beginner, the larger the better! hoopwithcori.com

Using a weighted hoop for the first time can cause bruising, so don’t be alarmed. Finally, don’t give up! If you don’t get it on the first try, keep going! Many of my hoop students couldn’t hoop the first class and now they are hooping like pros! hoopwithcori.com

Try hooping in your second favorite direction (hoop in the opposite direction) during commercials! If you need more motivation, seek out a hoop fitness class!
