Strengthening Aerospace Education: Insights from the Academic Affairs Committee at ASM 2011

The Academic Affairs Committee held five significant sessions at ASM 2011, focusing on key topics such as Design Education, Software Engineering, Best Practices, Innovations in Instruction, and Space Systems. Co-sponsored by various technical committees, these sessions explored the integration of software practices in aerospace curricula. The committee, led by Ron Kohl, aims to assess the mention of structured programming and software engineering in ABET Program Criteria, ensuring that aerospace students gain essential practical skills applicable to aeronautical and astronautical challenges.
