In this session, we invite you to discuss the following question: • What institutional structures will be needed to establish an MRA in tourism in your country? • What process will be necessary to establish these structures? • You should align your structures with the ASEAN MRA framework policy • Your objective is: • To determine the feasibility of establishing the necessary institutional structures for a tourism MRA in your country.

  3. How to Respond • Ensure you have a clear understanding of the aims of MRAs. • Examine the feasibility of establishing the key bodies required for an MRA in your country. Specifically: • 1. Conformance Assessment Body • 2. Regulatory Authority • 3. Designating Body • 4. Membership of Joint Sectoral Committee • If you have time, please also review how your country will ensure that these bodies have the authority and technical competency to carry out their requirements under an MRA.

  4. At the End… • You will be able to make a judgement as to the feasibility of establishing the institutional structures to implement an MRA for tourism services in your country • We will be able collectively as a group to assess the issues exposed by this workshop and their implications for an ASEAN MRA for tourism services
