  1. Regular vs. System Boilers: All You Need to Know If you are a homeowner then you must have across terms like system and regular boilers. These are types of boilers that one has to learn about carefully before getting one. System and regular Boilers in East Grinstead are the most common since these are ideal for large homes or homes with multiple water outlets. But what is the difference between the two? How do you choose one? Which kind is ideal for your home? What is a Regular Boiler? Regular boilers are also known as conventional or traditional boilers. These are the oldest kind and the first ones to be designed for central heating. Regular boilers are good for large homes that have multiple bathrooms and have higher demands of hot water. This is possible because regular boilers are installed with a hot water cylinder that stores hot water for prolonged use. They also need a feed and expansion tank that supplies cold water into the boiler. This tank is usually installed in the loft so that you don’t have to put another pump in place since gravity does the job of pushing water into the system. The only problem with regular boilers is that of space since there are two tanks that need to be placed. Not to forget the installation costs especially if you start from scratch. What is a System boiler? System boilers operate similarly however, the main difference is that these only need one storage tank for hot water. The water is fed from the mains and then circulated to radiators and water outlets around the boiler. System boilers have been especially popular in recent times since they use lesser space. There is no need for a cold water tank and a hot water cylinder can easily be stored in airing cupboards. System boilers can also meet the demands of big homes. By insulating the cylinder, you can also preserve the temperature of hot water for a long time. System and Regular Boilers: Which One Should You Get? In simple words, both are ideal for homes with large water demands. However, these vary in terms of costs and installations. The major difference between system and regular boilers, as mentioned above, is that one needs one tank for hot water storage while the latter needs two tanks in two different locations for a seamless working system. Not to mention that regular boiler installations also cost more than system boilers. If you have space to spare then regular boilers can do the job well but if you are short on space then it is best to go for system boilers. An important factor to consider is the size of the boiler which is measured in kW (kilowatts). This output rating is precisely what measures the heating capability of the boiler. It is best to consult an experienced professional before selecting a size since a small size will put more pressure on the system while a large size will lead to energy wastage.
