  2. Lab Rules  • Read through the instructions before you go to the lab. • Ask Mrs.Tate any questions before starting lab.

  3. Lab Behavior • Never mess around and always follow directions.

  4. Proper dressing for lab • Wear lab equipment if needed (goggles, gloves, and lab aprons). • No open toed shoes allowed during lab (just in case of broken glass or liquid spills)

  5. think before doing Practicing safety You must know wherethe eyewash fountain, fire extinguisher, safety shower, fire alarm box, office intercom button, evacuation routes, clean-up brush and dust pan, glass/chemical disposal can to be safe In the lab.

  6. Practicing Safety • Don’t put your face directly near the test tube. • Keep test tubes being heated away from you and everybody else. • Never taste anything without permission. • All food & drinks must never come into the lab.

  7. Practicing Safety • Never put your face near a test tube or smell anything that comes from the test tube. • Carefully fan your hand over the tube to smell the substance in the tube.

  8. When An Accident Happens • Tell the teacher when an accident happens no matter how small it is. • Notify the teacher if anything happens or when you get hurt.

  9. When An Accident Happens • If you ever get chemical in your eyes, you must wash your eye with the eye-wash fountain and you must tell the teacher.

  10. At The End Of The Lab • Put back the materials you used in the proper place. • Dispose anything that needs to be thrown away. • Wash and dry your materials that you used in your lab. • Clean up your area, and listen for more directions.
