  3. Congratulations to… …Caroline Thompson is representing GHS with a mixed media piece at The Art of Healing at the Columbia Museum of Art. Caroline’s work will be on exhibit until March. An anticipated 40,000 people will visit that show and see her work! Caroline has been a student of Mrs. Miller’s in both 2-D design and Photography I, and her pictures have appeared on the pages of our school yearbook! Great Job, Caroline!

  5. Congratulations to… … Davis Farmer, who signed to play football with Old Dominion University and Mark Grieco, who signed with Campbell University. On behalf of Gilbert High School, we congratulate both young men on their scholarships, and hope that they find great success at the next level.

Create IT Discovery Day This day gives suudents the opportunity to explore careers in information technology This is a High-energy day planned for high school students for Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Columbia, SC, 12:30 – 5:00 pm at IT-ology. This FREE event is open to all high school students but registration IS required! To register, go to http://createit.eventbrite.com.

  9. Attention Students! Yearbooks are on sale NOW!! If you have not bought one yet, time may be running out!!! A yearbook staff member may be contacting you to encourage you to buy one soon! See Mrs. Bentley in Room 232 for details.

  10. More Senior News! Senior supplies will be delivered on March 12th, so get those balances paid off soon!  If you need to know how much you owe, email or stop by and see Mrs. Gibbons.

  11. Attention Juniors If you are interested in taking Health Science Clinical Study next school year, please see Mrs. Cato in room 312 for a registration packet, as soon as possible.  Registration packets must be returned to her by Thursday, February 21st.

  12. Attention Students, Faculty and Staff: Gilbert HOSA will be hosting our annual American Red Cross Blood Drive on February 22nd from 8:30-2:30.  If you are interested in donating, please contact our school nurse, Ruth Lepir @821-1923, to schedule your time, as soon as possible.  Students must be 16 years of age, and sign ups will begin February 11th. And studentswho donate to the blood drive will receive a gift card from TCBY valued at $3.00!  Once again, thanks for "Giving the Gift of Life!"
