2. USD 373 serves children under the State Pre-K grant, Head Start grant as well as special education. Our preschool program is committed to providing high quality, comprehensive services to children and families. Being a part of a school district makes referrals and interventions effortless when a need arises in the areas of development, nutrition, medical, dental, as well as mental health and behavior services. We believe parent involvement to be an imperative piece of the puzzle to the success of our program. We strive to provide parents resources and assistance to become self-sufficient as well as life-long educators for their children. Our program provides 3 hours and 15 minutes of education per day, 5 days per week. We follow the school district calendar for professional days and holidays. We have one application for all 3 programs, however each program has different eligibility criteria. All preschool programs offered through USD 373 are at no cost to families.

5. Our programs provide children with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. The staff recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. We welcome parent involvement in activities, and work as partners with parents to help all children progress. Staff members give all children love, acceptance, understanding, and the opportunity to learn and experience success. Children socialize with others, solve problems, and have other experiences which help them become self-confident. The children also improve their listening and speaking skills, including specialized services for Dual Language Learners. SERVICES FOR OUR CHILDREN

6. SERVCES FOR OUR CHILDREN In our preschool program, children spend time in stimulating settings where they form good habits and enjoy playing with toys and working on tasks with classmates. Children will leave more prepared for kindergarten, excited about learning, and ready to succeed. Children are examined by skilled professionals for any health problems. Professionals will arrange vision and hearing tests and any needed immunizations. We offer nutrition assessments and dental exams as well. Children with health needs receive follow-up care. Mental, behavioral health and other services are available for children and families who wish to receive them.

7. The family partnership goal is based on an area the family identifies as needing improvement such as fiscal responsibility, continuing education, employment, or health and nutrition. 100% of our families established a family partnership goal and were supported by our staff to complete it.

PARENTS ARE A CHILD’S FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT TEACHERS Our program offers parents opportunities and support as they identify and meet their own goals, nurture their children in the context of their families and cultures, and advocate for communities that support children and families of all cultures. The staff recognize parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. We welcome parent involvement in activities, and will work as partners with you to help your child progress. Our successes with children in health that completed the program year: 98% had completed a health history 92% were up to date on well child care 90% were up to date with all immunizations 93% received a dental exam 58% of dental follow up was completed out of 31 who were in need. 100% were screened for vision 94% were screened for hearing 100% had completed growth assessments 100% had completed blood pressures

12. Harvey County preschool programs serve families within the context of their community.
