  1. LET THE PEACE OF GOD RULE IN YOUR HEARTS

  2. Joh 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. • WHAT ROBS ME OF HAVING PEACE?

  3. WORRY • DISREGAURDS A COMMAND • Mt 6:25 ¶ Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? • Mt 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? • Mt 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

  4. WORRY • CHOKES GOD’S WORD OUT OF OUR HEARTS. • Mt 13:22 "Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. • TO DISTRACT OR DRAW ONE IN ANOTHER DIRECTION

  5. WORRY • IS UNEFFECTIVE • Mt 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? • DEATH, RETIREMENT • THINGS THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN • WHAT MUST I DO ABOUT WORRY?

  6. WORRY • Pr 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. • Ro 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

  7. WORRY • PRAY • 1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. • Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. • 1Pe 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. • 1Jo 5:14 ¶ And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

  8. FEAR • 2 KINDS OF FEAR MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE • 1] RESPECT, REVERENCE, HONOR. Ec 12:13 ¶ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 2Co 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. 2Co 7:1 ¶ Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

  9. FEAR • 2] FEAR THAT IS FORBIDDEN, AND THE ENEMY OF PEACE. • Mt 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. • 1Co 15:58 ¶ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

  10. FEAR • WHAT OTHERS MAY THINK OR SAY. • Ps 56:11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. • FEAR PROMPTED PETER TO DENY THE LORD 3 TIMES IN MT 26:69-75. • Pr 29:25 ¶ The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

  11. FEAR • CONSEQUENCES OF FEAR • PREVENTS US FROM DOING GODS WILL. MOSES. WHO AM I, WHAT AM I GOING TO SAY, THEY WON’T BELIEVE ME,OR HEAR ME. • Mt 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

  12. FEAR • CAUSES US TO BE USELESS. • Jg 7:2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. • 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.

  13. FEAR • Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

  14. GUILT • Joh 14:1 ¶ Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. • GUILT IS PRODUCED BY THE REALIZATIONTHAT WE HAVE SINNED. ROM 3:23, 1 JN 3:4, 5:17. • GOD HAS GIVEN US GUILT TO HELP US BE AWARE OF SIN. LK 15:17-18. • TRAGICALLY MANY DO NOT FEEL BIBLICAL GUILT BECAUSE THEIR HEARTS ARE HARDENED.

  15. DEALING WITH GUILT • JESUS GIVES THE ANSEWER. • 2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. • Ro 5:6 ¶ For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. • 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. • 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. • 1Jo 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. • 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

  16. DEALING WITH GUILT • REMISSION-MT 26:28 • REDEMPTION 1 PETER1:18-19 • JUSTIFICATION ROM 5:8-10 • RECONCILIATION 2 CO 5:14-18 • SALVATION EPH 2:1 • HOWEVER WE MUST RESPOND TO GOD’S SAVING HAND.

  17. DEALING WITH GUILT • IF YOUR NOT A CHRISTIAN • BELIEVE JN 3:16, 8:24 • REPENT ACTS 3:19, 17:30-31 • CONFESS FAITH IN JESUSROM 10:9-10 • BE BAPTISED ACTS 2:38, MK 16:16 • THEN WHEN WE SIN • REPENT ACTS 8:22, CONFESS 1 JN 1:8-9, JAMES 5:16, AND PRAY, ASKING GOD TO FORGIVE HIM LK:11:10, ACTS 8:22-23

  18. DEALING WITH GUILT • Ps 103:12 As far as the east irom the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. • Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful s fto their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. • 1Ti 1:12 ¶ And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; • 13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. • 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. • 15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

  19. Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
