State and local contracts: state and local agencies ( Oklahoma Tax Commission, Oklahoma Department of Education, Oklahoma State Election Board, Office of State Finance) Research Projects: National Science Foundation, National Institute of Justice, National Research Council, NOAA, NASA Outreach and Training: Oklahoma NASA Space Grant, contracts with requesting units, pro bono service project

  4. Challenges Q3: What is your greatest Clearinghouse challenge at this time? No dedicated personnel or funding, maintained as a service to the state.

  5. Backup architecture Q4: What is your backup architecture – does it include written policies? • Services hosted in CSA operate inside of Virtual Machines (VM). • take a backup of an entire system, configuration, and data at a specific point in time • option to return to that later in the event of corruption or crash • weekly snapshot of all VMs and different VMs are backed up nightly • snapshots are stored on a separate file server and are also archived to an LTO-5 Automated Tape Library • all data stored off file servers used by our users are archived to the tape library -ideally nightly • some backup jobs can run long and delay the backups for othersresulting in limitations in how much we can store and how often the backups can run • Tapes are taken off-site weekly to provide off-site backups in the case of the loss of the tape library in the datacenter. • No formal written policy regarding backups

  7. Inventory Q6: Have you implemented a GIS data inventory tool within your state? NO

  8. Staffing Q7: How is your organization staffed? Please list positions title and full or part time status.

  9. Archive Policy Q8: Has your state developed a record retention/archival policy for geospatial data? NO

  10. Technology: GIS Server Q9: Which of the following GIS Server software are utilized by your organization? (ArcIMS, ArcGIS Server, AGS Image Extension, Map Server, Other?) • Multiple ArcGIS Server 10.0 servers • One for production projects • One for development and testing • Just recently shutdown all 9.3 servers and SDEs • A 10.1 server should be up and running by the end of October • Will be for testing at first

  11. Technology: GIS Server Q10: If your organization is running ArcGIS Server, have you upgraded to version 10.1? Yes, No, Issues encountered? NO – Plan to setup a 10.1 server for testing by the end of October

  12. Technology: GIS Server Q11: Which Web API's are utilized by your organization? (JavaScript, Flex, Silverlight, Undecided) • OBWEO, Data Warehouse image downloader, and COWIB use various Flex versions • OBWEO was upgraded from ArcGIS server 9.3, tomcat, and java to ArcGIS server 10.0 and FlexViewer • Currently developing some applications in JavaScript • Have developed a few applications in Silverlight

  13. Technology: GIS Server Q12: Does your state GIS portal utilize the ArcGIS Server Geoportal Extension? NO

  14. Technology: ArcGIS Online Q13: Are you currently publishing data and services via ArcGIS Online? No – Plan to publish new Data Warehouse data on ArcGIS online

  15. Technology: Cloud Computing Q14: Are you currently using Cloud computing services? For example, a pre-built ArcGIS Server instance running in the Amazon Cloud or a Cloud-based storage solution? No. All servers run in Virtual Machines at OU.

  16. Technology: Mobile Applications Q15: What, if any, mobile applications have been developed or are planned to be developed? What platforms are being supported (iOS, Android, Windows Mobile)? What technologies are being used? Currently no mobile apps.

  17. Additional State Content State Projects CSAworks closely with the Oklahoma Tax Commission, State Election Board, Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Oklahoma Department of Education, Oklahoma Department of Wildlife and Fishery, and various cities to develop GIS databases and applications. Through these projects, CSA has developed unique programs for education and research developments in Oklahoma’s higher education in Geographic Information Science and Technology, as well as strong partnerships with state government, councils of government, and government offices of cities and counties across the state. • Oklahoma State Election Board: Long-term On-going Geo-Referencing Maintenance For the Oklahoma Voter Registration System with the Oklahoma State Election Board • Oklahoma State Board of Education: On-going Processing of School and Career Technical District Updates for the Oklahoma Department of Education • Oklahoma Tax Commission:A Long-term On-going Project with the Oklahoma Tax Commission to update and maintain municipal boundaries within the state of Oklahoma as well as provide a sales tax calculation database • Oklahoma Department of Corrections:Developing a GIS toolkit and conducting analysis for the GPS offender monitoring program • Oklahoma Broadband Initiative: Developing a map of high-speed broadband internet service availability in Oklahoma to improve accessibility in unserved and underserved areas
