Understanding Turgor Pressure and Tropism: A Pre-Lab Activity for Science Class

  1. Thursday, January 26, 2012 Entrance Activity: Pre-Lab– Please get a copy of the Turgor Pressure Lab form the front table. Please complete the “Pre-Lab” questions on the back side of the lab sheet. Seat Activity: Science Journal – Please get your Science Journal and discuss the following prompt: Explain the benefits of Geotropism and Phototropism.

(7.7C – Supporting) • Investigate how organisms respond to external stimuli found in the environment such as phototropism. (7.13A – Supporting) • Demonstrate (This is how you will demonstrate what you have learned today.) • Demonstrate and assess mastery of the learning objective through journaling and reflective writing that demonstrates a thorough understanding of the concept.
