  5. As a couple Describe some areas that you may yet need to leave and cleave in.

  6. Genesis 3:1-2 - Deception Mislead that these are more important than Oneness and more fulfilling. Like Eve deceived in her desires • Education/Vocation • Money • Homes • Kids’ prowess/activities • Results = debt – economy- divorce • Ecclesiastes - unfulfilling • “Childhood contentment” today

Compare – Jones’ = friendship w/world= hostility towards God motives for marriage: feelings, sex, escape, solve Expectations - roles, expression of love, sex Opposing views on values, church, finances Performance relationship 50/50 marriage. I deserve this because I bring in all the $$$ Destined for failure – scorekeeping, weakness of spouse, impossibility of spouse performing enough – God grace based?

Col 3:23 • Matt 25:14-30 passive approach will bite you • Initiate - romance, reconciliation, righteousness

Initiate – be 1st to say sorry, I love you let’s pray Consequences: trust violated, relocation, respect lost, fear of God created, toil harshly,pain in child birth, psychological damage(ashamed), confidence in leadership affected. All mankind.
