Collect goggles, Bunsen, mat, gauze, tripod, stopwatch and beaker. • Put on the goggles and check your hair and clothing for safety. • Set the heating apparatus up safely but do not light the Bunsen. • Put some ice into the beaker. • Describe what you can see in the beaker in your book. • Put the beaker safely onto the gauze. • Light the Bunsen and start the stopwatch. • Note down what you see in the beaker every minute for 5 minutes as it is heated.
