School Strategic Plan (SSP)Goals: • All students will be proficient in reading at or above grade level. • All students will be proficient in math at or above grade level. • All teachers will work collaboratively and professionally to implement grade level standards utilizing best practices. The full SSP is posted to the website.
Academic Matters: • Departmentalization • Writer’s Workshop • Math Workshop • Online Textbooks • Homework (Mon – Thurs.) • Tutoring (Extended Day & Saturday School if needed)
Attendance: • Attendance Counts – not only for your student, but for the SCHOOL! It is a major factor in our AYP score! • Students must bring in a note when they return from being absent. • Attendance Award – YES students can earn one, but only with NO tardies or early outs!!
Report Cards: • Grades are different this year • Students will receive A,B,C,D, or F • A = 90-100 • B = 80-89 • C = 74–79 • D = 70-73 • F = below 70 • Remember to read the keys on the County Report Cards.
Homework: • Cobb County 4th grade homework mandate is 40 minutes of written homework PLUS 20 minutes of reading. • Students will have math and spelling homework each night (Mon. – Thurs) • Students are to record assignments in their agendas for you to check each night.
Honors/Awards: • Principal’s Honor Roll • Student earned ALL As and NO Ns in conduct • Honor Roll • Student earned ALL As and Bs and NO Ns in conduct • Citizenship • This award is based on the Cobb County Character Education Program
Transportation: • ALL transportation changes must come in written form to the teacher to be sent to the office!! • e-mails cannot be accepted
Communication: • Regular two-way communication • Allow at least a 24 -hour response time • Student agendas • Friday Folders • Homework Hotline • E-blast: Please sign up TONIGHT!
