  6. What’s New? – INSIGHT and COS • In August 2019, COS-SD version 3.0 and INSIGHT version 10.0 were released. • For any subsequent revisions, COS-SD (currently 3.1.xxx) will automatically update overnight if the server is on and connected to the Internet. • INSIGHT is now version 10.2 and if needed, will automatically update when the INSIGHT app is opened. • As a part of preparing for testing, students and Examiners should be trained to confirm to proceed should INSIGHT request to update. SD Dashboard in eDIRECT Readiness Check in INSIGHT Central Office Folder in COS 6

  7. What’s New – eDIRECT • The primary navigation of eDIRECT is being refreshed. • Delivers easier, more intuitive navigation

  8. What’s New – Georgia and WIDA/ACCESS • Easy access to both programs with new interface. • All districts can manage test content for Milestones and WIDA/ACCESS through the same Device Toolkit

  9. What’s New – Pre-ID and Multiple Student Upload • We will no longer have Pre-ID in 2020-2021 • Pre-ID is not required in 2019-2020 • 2019-2020 can be used as a transition for your processes from Pre-ID to Multiple Student Upload

  10. What’s New – System Requirements and Technology User Guides • Updated System Requirements posted to eDIRECT June 27 (effective through October) • Located under the Downloads page or Documents page. • System Requirements available on the EOC Resources page and in eDIRECT.  • Updated Technology User Guides (Volumes I – IV) posted on eDIRECT in General Information > Documents on August 29

  11. What’s New: Desmos Calculatorwww.desmos.com/testing Basic Scientific Graphing Comparisons between public and testing calculators

  12. Reminders 12

  13. Reminder – INSIGHT Portal (eDIRECT) Permissions • INSIGHT Portal (eDIRECT) Permissions • Reference the Permissions Matrix in the User Guide • Each user will be assigned a set of permissions (district/school level), to allow the user to handle testing responsibilities • Assign those permissions to appropriate district- or school-level personnel that assist in trouble-shooting • Example, “Test Tickets - Unlock” permission

  14. Reminder – Student Completion • Users with the “Test Tickets – View Questions Attempted” permission can view individual student questions-attempted status • Hover cursor over the Status column’s text (within Edit/Print Ticket Status) • Note: The hover feature is only available when a student is in a Completed Status

  15. Reminder – INSIGHT Portal (eDIRECT) Inactivate Users • Inactivate any users who no longer need access to the INSIGHT Portal (eDIRECT). This inactivates the user from logging into eDIRECT completely. • Districts should review prior administrations to verify that all legacy users are inactivated.

  16. Reminder – Student Coding, Submitting Tests in Practice Items, Top Down Testing Audit • Students are assigned to the home school. Students receiving instruction in an alternative setting (e.g. alternative school, GNETS, etc.) will receive test materials and reports delivered based on the home school and not the alternative setting. • Remind students to avoid clicking “Submit” ( ) when taking the practice items prior to start of the operational items of the test. • Perform a district-level audit to confirm testing is progressing as expected. • Confirm students are in their appropriate test sessions • Confirm students have been assigned the appropriate accommodations • Use the Student Status Dashboard to confirm students are testing during the planned testing window

  17. Reminder – Extended Retry Logic • Scenario III: The tester is directed to wait and to leave the message displayed. • In this situation, one of two things occur: • If a network connection is re-established within five minutes, the test response is sent to DRC, the message closes automatically, and the tester can continue testing. • If a network connection is not re-established within five minutes, the message closes and an Internet Connection Error message displays, requiring the tester to exit INSIGHT by clicking OK.

  18. Reminder – Technology User Guide Vol. IV Troubleshooting • Technology User Guide, Volume IV: Troubleshooting • Describes tools and testing information to help you troubleshoot your testing environment and verify that it is ready for testing • Includes the more common error messages you may encounter while installing, configuring, and using DRC INSIGHT, COS SDs, and the Central Office Services - Device Toolkit. • It also provides recommendations to resolve them

  19. Reminder – Math: Non-Calculator Section • Students should only navigate past the Non-Calculator portion of the EOC math assessments when they have fully completed working on those questions • To progress through the remainder of the test, the following screen is presented to the student • Tests will not “start” or “skip” or ”jump” forward to the Calculator portion of the test without student intervention (selected “Yes, Continue”)

  20. Reminder – Writing Responses • Writing responses are automatically saved every 45 seconds or after a navigational click (e.g. Next, Back, Pause) • Resolving claims of lost student response • Potential causes • Student highlights text (double-clicks/taps, drags cursor, or uses Control + A) then selects a new character/space/delete • Ask student to use either Control + Z or the Undo option to undo their action • Will be unable to use these 2 options if navigate to another item and returns to the previous item

  21. Getting Started – The Basics 21

  22. Technology and Testing • Testing and Technology teams should work closely together • Review training dates and times • Review testing schedule, number of testers, amount of time testing • Capacity Estimator • Computer Use Estimator • Readiness Checklist • Plan for Secure Practice Test sessions • Verify that any new district technology works with INSIGHT • Check Firewall Settings and Whitelisting • Verify new hardware and software works with INSIGHT 22

  23. Network Requirements • All testing devices should have access to the Internet and DRC servers using HTTP/HTTPS protocols on ports 80 and 443 • All firewalls should allow connectivity on ports 80, 443, and 55222-55225 • Whitelist the following file types, both internally and externally: enc, exe (for updates), gif, html, jar, jpeg, xml • Prioritize/whitelist INSIGHT traffic on: firewalls, internet packet shaper, routers, switches, proxies, other network devices • Whitelist these URLs on content filtering systems or other proxy/firewall software that is used locally: • https://drc-centraloffice.com • https://ga-insight-client.drcedirect.com • https://ga-insight.drcedirect.com • https://ga.drcedirect.com • https://www.drcedirect.com • https://wbte.drcedirect.com • https://dtk.drcedirect.com • https://api-gateway-cloud.drcedirect.com • https://api-gateway.drcedirect.com • https://cdn-content-prod.drcedirect.com • https://cdn-download-prod.drcedirect.com 23

  24. System Requirements • DRC provides updates of system requirements every 3-4 months • Goal to provide guidance based on device/operating system vendor support plans • Please note – If you experienced satisfactory performance from the hardware you used for online testing in 2018-2019, you should experience the same performance, or better, this year using the updated DRC INSIGHT secure browser and COS Service Device software – IF the device/operating system vendor still supports the device/operating system • Details of the System Requirements are located in the portal • https://ga.drcedirect.com • General Information/Documents/ • Document Type of Manuals 24
