  3. Army Doctrine Publication 1-02 • Provides foundational doctrine for establishing and using terms, acronyms, and symbols. • Address the importance of terms & symbols in effectively understanding doctrine and in conducting military operations.

  4. Army Doctrine Reference Publication 1-02 • Builds from the ADP 1-02 foundational doctrine. • Provides a compilation of approved Army operational terms, definitions, and acronyms. • Terms listed in manual are commonly used in operations orders, or in operation cells of a command post during operations. • Army Proponent publication for all military symbols. • Provides single standard for developing and depicting hand-drawn and computer generated military symbols. • Provides selected joint terms, definitions, and acronyms frequently used in Army doctrine. • Doesn’t include Army branch or functional area specific terms that have limited use.

  5. Website Based Terminology & Symbology • Includes all Army doctrinal terms (including branch or functional area specific ), acronyms, and symbols. • Maintains current and superseded terminology, acronyms, symbology, and rescinded data. • Facilitates updating of terms by allowing authorized personnel to make immediate updates/changes. • Filters terms from operational, branch specific, and rescinded. • Capable of linking a term with a symbol. • Makes current version more accessible to customer . • Provides downloadable “full version” and or “compendium version” publications. • Links to DOD Dictionary (JP 1-02).
