  1. AUTOMATIC FILLERS (AND & AKN Fillers) These machines are designed as automatic versions of DN and KN model fillers and are available with 1 or 2 filling nozzles. They are constructed to meet the specific requirements of the purchaser. Containers: The machines are capable of filling rigid containers that are (a) round with open tops or center opening (rectangular with center or end opening (c) Square containers with corner or center opening. Minimum container size is 4 liters (1 gal.). The machine may be designed for filling containers as large as 55 gallons. Products:The fillers are capable of filling non-foaming or foaming liquids with viscosities to 2000 cst. Models are available as top fill and sub-surface models. Speed:The machine is available with one or two filling platforms, and may be equipped with pre fill stations to partially fill the container before reaching the filling platforms and final filling on the weighing platform. Speed is based on the flow capabilities of the product and product supply systems. Production rate also depends on the shape, size and strength of the container, and special handling required. Based on the filling of round, open-top containers; filling a product with water viscosity from a 3 M(10 ft.) gravity head tank, estimated fill speeds are as follows:

  2. Containers/Minute Operation: The containers are placed on the in feed container and are moved to the loading position. When the container (s) on the filling platform is filled, the next container will be placed and the filled container (s) will be pushed to the discharge conveyor. When the empty container (s) is on the filling platform, the fill will begin. Weighing Device/Accuracy: The AKN model fillers use mechanical weight-tripping devices which are capable of filling to an accuracy of 0.5%, they may be (optionally) equipped with fast-fill/slow-fill (“Dribble Flow”) to increase accuracy. The AND models use electronic load cell scales with digital controllers/indicators. Fill accuracy is within 0.25% of the target. Reduction of fill rate during slow fill may increase accuracy. Utilities Required: (a) Electric: The filler includes 2 fractional horsepower motors for conveyor operation. ADN models require electrical connections for electronic scales. (b) Pneumatic: The machines are pneumatically controlled & operated. Air consumption is approx 15 liters (1/2 cu. ft.)/min. at 6 bar (80 p.s.i) for each top fill nozzle or 30 liters (1 cu. ft.)/min. at 6 bar (80 p.s.i) for each sub-surface nozzle.

  3. Maintenance: The pneumatic logic control system has visual and tactile indicators and manual overrides for signal tracing and the scale controller has visual indication of signal outputs. Standard frames are welded steel, printed and coated with 316 stainless steel pigment polyurethane paint. Many parts (including tripping devices on AKN fillers, and base covers and controller enclosures on AND fillers) are manufactured of stainless steel. Optional Features: Fast Fill/Slow Fill: (Standard on AND models) This slows the fill at the end of the fill cycle to increase accuracy. The slower the flow at the end of the fill, the more accurate the fill. Prefills: The machine may be equipped with a timed prefill station. This allows the containers to be partially filled at the sorting area, then “topped off” on the weighing platform. This increases the fill rate by increasing the number of filling nozzles without increasing the number of platforms. Data Connections: (AND fillers only) This allows weight data to be transmitted to printers or computers.
