Vocabulary • Ratio • Comparison of two numbers by division. • The ratio of a to b is a:b or , where • Rate • If a and b represent quantities measures in different units, then the ration of z to b is a rate. • Unit Rate • A rate with a denominator of 1. • Example 40miles/1hour; a.k.a. 40 miles/hour
