  2. What rights are violated? • Right to be treated fairly • Right to a secure and private home • Basic equality rights • Right to education • Right to vote

  3. Mistreatment The besiege of violent attacks from various offenders are not limited to one certain type of person;rather, it has been d the ages of 4 months to 76 years. Some people commit crimes toward these helpless people such as “being harassed, kicked, set on fire, beaten to death, and even decapitated” (Pudlow). Most of the offenders are 25 years of age or younger. Florida has the highest known attacks on homeless people. YouTube - Epidemic: Teens Beat Homeless

  4. According to the Big Bend Coalition, 3000-4000 people are homeless in Tallahassee alone. Why? The ease of getting assistance and low cost housing has been cut. Living in America, every person is granted “the right to an adequate standard of living, which includes the right to adequate housing” (ICESCR, article 11). Right to Secure Housing

  5. Equality Rights • Denied the right to education • Clothing • Proper documentation Ex. Birth certificates, insurance, etc. • Means of transportation • Denied the right to vote • No permanent address • No legal I.D.

  6. This problem of strippinghomeless people of their given rights is happening everywhere. Though we cannot control what happens all over the nation we can help within Florida and our own city, Tallahassee. Tallahassee has all the power but there is no drive to fix the problem. Homeless people have the same hopes, dreams, and rights and they should be acknowledged. Capital of Florida in Tallahassee, Fl.
