The Tåîchô Government addresses the critical decline of the Bathurst caribou herd through a comprehensive joint recovery and management proposal developed in collaboration with Environment and Natural Resources (ENR). The plan underscores the importance of traditional knowledge from Tåîchô elders, focusing on respecting caribou through sustainable practices. Key governance laws emphasize responsible hunting behaviors and community awareness. Co-management initiatives aim to restore caribou populations while respecting Tåîchô culture and ensuring a sustainable future for the land and its wildlife.
