Team 2 Mission Statement The mission is to send a manned spacecraft to a near Earth asteroid to perform research for the development of asteroid mitigation techniques and raw material extraction. The extensive requirements of a human-to-asteroid mission will help NASA to evaluate the performance of future space systems prior to sending a crewed mission to mars.
