  2. Project • Title: Develop Integrated software solution for Motel Management • Start Date: February 7, 2002 • Projected Finish Date: April 25, 2002 • Manager: Atul Jha , 832-722-4986, atul.jha@usa.net

Project Objective • The objective of this project team is to develop software that will provide Front Desk Check-in all the way to Back Office Motel management. • This simple "one" solution approach will provide efficiency for the business so that management will have more time to serve the guests instead of having to maintain information manually.

  4. Objective continued… • The project has been budgeted $11,000.00 for software, hardware and labor costs.

  5. Approach • Analysis of the manual Front Desk check-in process as well as existing software that supports this process in order to get a better idea of what we should consider while designing our product. • Develop detailed cost / time estimate for project and report it to Sponsor.

  6. Approach continued… • Research on software and request for the quotes in order to decide on which software to use for the product development. • Decide on Team and their responsibilities. • Design, develop and test implementation in order to be ready to market the product.

  8. Roles Description • Project Sponsor: Monitor and provide funds for the project. • Project Manager:Plan and execute project. Responsible for the overall success of the project. • Deputy PM: Act as Project Manager in the absence of Project Manager. Also, lead the architecture and design efforts.

Description continued… • Business Analyst:Gather information, analyze system and prepare a detailed technical document, and provide forms, reports and testing specification. • DBA / Programmer:Design, develop and maintain Database and write programs. Will assist in testing. • Programmer: Write programs. Responsible for developing forms and reports. Will assist in testing.

Comments and Assumptions • This project must be completed within twelve weeks at the absolute latest. • IT infrastructure and team will be available until the end of the project. • Development of this software was not based on any Motel customer request. Sponsor wanted team to develop this software in order to market the product in the future.
