  1. Humidifiers for Every Application

  2. Pressure Steam Humidifiers Designed to deliver Reliable humidity from facility steam boilers

  3. SAM-e

  4. SAM-e Components Mounting Frame Steam Tubes Header Inlet Adapter Condensate Drain

  5. SAM-e Header • Fits ducts 18” – 144” wide • 3”, 6”, 9” or 12” spacing • Atmospheric or pressure steam 9.0” 8.7” Spacing Width

  6. SAM-e Header 801 – 1200 lbs/hr • Atmospheric steam • 3”, 6”, 9” or 12” spacing • Fits ducts 42” – 144” 9.0” 8.7” Spacing Width

  7. SAM-e Steam Tubes • Lengths from 6” to 132” • 4 Types: • Type A: 15 lbs/hr (20 Tubelets) • Type B: 36 lbs/hr (48 Tubelets) • Type B+: 55 lbs/hr (74 Tubelets) • Type C: 75 lbs/hr (102 Tubelets) Length

  8. How does the SAM-e Work? Steam Tube Cross Section Airflow Tube wall Hot Steam Nozzles Condensate

  9. Atmospheric Installation Atmospheric Steam Trap and Funnel

  10. Pressurized Installation With External Steam Separator Strainer Valve and Actuator Steam Main Separator F&T Steam Trap F&T Steam Trap Pressurized Condensate Return Main Return to Non-Pressurized Condensate Return Main or Drain

  11. Pressurized Installation Without External Steam Separator

  12. Pressurized Installation SAM-e Internal Baffle Internal Baffle Plate

  13. SAM-e Mounting Options In-Duct Mounting • Header sits on duct floor • Mounting frame optional

  14. SAM-e Mounting Options Outside Duct Mounting • Header sits under duct floor • Mounting frame optional • Cover plates required

  15. SAM-e Mounting Options Vertical Duct Mounting • Mounting frame required • 10 – 30° angle Condensate drain at lowest point

  16. SAM-e Accessories Mounting Frame Stand Kit Cover Plates

  17. Why Insulate? SAM-e Insulated Option • Wasted energy - Lost heat is lost money • Wasted Water (Condensate) • Air stream heat gain • Low humidifier output • Low system efficiency

  18. Benefits of Insulation SAM-e Insulated Option • Thermal Resistance, R = 0.66 ft-ºF-hr/Btu • 70% condensate reduction • 120°F max surface temperature • Reduce heat gain • Improved efficiency

  19. Insulated SAM-e Header Insulation Tube Insulation

  20. Principle of Operation Insulated Steam Tube Cross Section Cool Airflow Stainless steel shielding ¼” Air-gap Foam strips Hot Steam

  21. Mini SAM-e

  22. Mini SAM-e • For ducts 12” x 8” to 24” x 24” • Horizontal flow only • Capacities up to 210 lbs/hr

  23. Mini SAM-e Header • 12”, 18” and 24” widths • 3” or 6” spacing 6.5” Width 3.25”

  24. Mini SAM-e Steam Tubes • Lengths from 5” to 21” • 3 Types: • Type MA: 10 lbs/hr (14 Tubelets) • Type MB: 20 lbs/hr (28 Tubelets) • Type MC: 30 lbs/hr (40 Tubelets) Length

  26. Troubleshooting

  27. Distributor Discharging Water? • Verify steam trap operation • Ensure steam trap orifice is not clogged • Ensure proper amount of steam traps • Ensure pipe and traps are sized correctly

  28. Leaking Around Tube Seals? • Verify seal is fully inserted • Check for physical damage • Verify that stopper plate is in place • Verify chemicals added to boiler

  29. Steam Condensing on Duct Wall? • Verify duct psychometrics • Check for unusual flow patterns • Check operation and installation of high- limit humidistat • Check valve and humidifier output
