Before initiating the turbine startup evolution, key initial conditions data is collected and documented. This critical information is used to determine the heat soak times and acceleration rates for rolling the turbine on steam. Key data points include main steam pressure and temperature at the HP turbine, hot reheat steam temperature at the IP turbine, and various metal temperatures at critical components. Once this data is thoroughly recorded, the startup planning process can commence smoothly and efficiently.

Initial Conditions Data Immediately prior to initiating the turbine startup evolution, certain key data is collected and recorded. This data will be used to determine the heat soak times and the acceleration rate for rolling the turbine on steam. This data includes: • Main steam pressure at the turbine • Main steam temperature, at the HP turbine • Hot reheat steam temperature, at the IP turbine • First stage inner shell surface metal temperature • Reheat bowl inner surface metal temperature • Crossover chamber upper surface metal temperature, between IP exhaust and LP inlet Once this data has been recorded, the startup planning may begin.
