Part 1 Reviewchapters 1-39 • God would use Assyria to take Israel (Ephraim) into captivity and to chasten Judah • After Assyria and Babylon’s judgment, a remnant of Israel would return to the land • They would no longer practice idolatry • The Messiah would rule in His kingdom with righteousness • Gentiles would be included in this kingdom • All the faithful will be blessed thru the Messiah

Isaiah Part 2 A look at Israel after captivity 40:1-66:24 • 40:1-2 introduces this section • Much of it points to Christ • Spiritual fulfillment and application is its aim • God must be the object of our trust 40:1-48:22 • The Servant of the Lord will rule 49:1-57:21 • The spiritual benefits of His rule 58:1-66:24
