  1. More Like Jesus Pleasing our Redeemer

  2. More Like you, Jesus, More like youFill my heart with you desire to make me more like you More like you, Jesus, more like you,Touch my lips with holy fire and make me more like you Lord, you are my mercy. Lord, you are my grace, and all my deepest sins have forever been erased. Draw me in your presence, lead me in your ways.I long to bring you glory in righteousness and praise.

  3. The best way to please God • Think the way Jesus thought • Speak the way He spoke • Act the way He behaved • Desire what He desired • Hate what He hated

  4. What Jesus Did • He loved the lowly and opposed the haughty. Cp. Lk. 18:10ff; Rom. 12:16 • He healed the unhealthy. Cp. Matt. 9:10ff • He forgave the fallen. Jn. 8:1ff • He devoted His life to God because God was sanctified in His heart. Cp. Col. 3:16-17

  5. Superseding The What: Why ‘What’ Jesus had power because of the purpose (please God) and attitude (love) behind His actions. 1 Cor. 13:1ff

  6. More Like Jesus • When we become Christians we made the decision to “put on Christ” • At some point we become so fully trained as disciples of Christ (Lk. 6:40) that we concur with Paul: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me…” Gal. 2:20
