Student Eligibility To be eligible to receive Tennessee Promise, a student must: • Be a Tennessee resident. • Graduate from an eligible Tennessee high school, complete a Tennessee home school program, or, prior to reaching 19 years of age, obtain a GED or HiSET diploma. • Enroll in an eligible college or program and attend full-time the fall after graduation (students attending a TCAT may enroll the summer following their high school graduation.) • Complete the Tennessee Promise application at www.TNPromise.gov. • Meet all deadlines and requirements.

  4. State Aid for Two-Year College Programs *All courses calculated on a 4.0 scale per the Uniform Grading Policy

  7. Tennessee Promise Process Fall 2014 Student applies Students apply to Tennessee Promise through TSAC Student Portal. By November 1 Student connected to partnering organization and mentor

  8. Tennessee Promise Process January/February 2015 Student files FAFSA TSAC tracks student FAFSA filing and supplies information to partnering organizations. By February 15 Student attends first partnering organization meeting Partnering organizations organize first meeting, then send list of student attendees to TSAC. By March 1

Tennessee Promise Process March/April/May 2015 Student attends second partnering organization meeting Partnering organizations organize second meeting, then send list of student attendees to TSAC. By May 31 Partnering organizations work with students to ensure that application has been submitted to eligible program. Student applies to an eligible institution

  10. Tennessee Promise Process Summer 2015 Student performs community service Partnering organizations verify community service hours and report to TSAC. By beginning of term Student enrolls Higher education institutions provide list of eligible student enrollment to TSAC. By beginning of term

  11. Tennessee Promise Process Fall 2015 Student begins classes TSAC sends scholarship funds directly to higher education institution. Partnering organization keeps in touch with students to renew scholarship.

  12. Apply for the program between August 15 and November 1, 2014. www.TNPromise.gov

  13. Tennessee Promise Application Portal Click on the “Apply Now” button on www.tnpromise.gov

  14. Tennessee Promise Application Portal Click “Create a Log in” to create an account.

  15. Tennessee Promise Application Portal Complete the application, check the box to accept terms and conditions, and click “Create my account”.
