  3. Primary education in Greece consists of kindergarten and primary school. • Kindergarten which lasts one to two years. • Primary school which lasts six years (from the age of six to the age of twelve). Primary education

  4. Secondary education consists of two stages. • First is Junior high school. An obligatory school which lasts three years (from the age of 12 to the age of 15). • Second is lyceum (high school) which is optional and lasts three years (from the age of 15 to the age of 18). After Junior High School students can choose whether to attend General or Vocational High School secondary education

Higher education is provided by Universities and Polytechnics and Technological Educational Institutions. • Undergraduate degree programs typically last four years (five in polytechnics, six in medical schools), while postgraduate programs last one to two years, and doctorates three to six years. higher education
