  2. Typesofschools • In the Czech Republic there are different types of schools. • These are: • 1) Kindergartens • 2) Elementary schools • 3) Secondary schools • 4) Universities

  3. Kindergartens • Small children from three to five (six) years can be in kindergartens. They play with toys, sing songs and learn poems. • Kindergartens can be private or public. There are kindergartens with education in foreign languages.

  4. Elementaryschools • At elementary schools children are between six and fifteen years old. • They learn to read, write and count. They have Science like Chemistry, Physics and humanity subjects like History, Czech and English. • Elementary schools give compulsory basic education to everyone.

  5. Secondaryschools • At secondary schools students are from fifteen to eighteen (nineteen) years old. • They can be private or public schools. Both of them are financed partly or completely with public money. • The most important types of secondary schools are grammar schools, vocational schools and apprentice training centers.

  6. Universities and Colleges • At universities students are usually at the age from 19 to 26 years. Students being older than 26 have to pay tuition fees. • In the Czech Republic there are private universities and colleges and public universities. • The most important ones are Charles University in Prague, Czech Technical University in Prague, Westbohemian University in Pilsen and Masaryk University in Brno
